Our History
Our fireplace repair and installation business, The Soot Doctor, was founded in 2011 by George Tracey. George founded The Soot Doctor as a response to the amount of chimney and house fires caused by poorly installed solid fuel appliances and chimney systems. All of these were unfortunately preventable.
George is a qualified professional firefighter with extensive knowledge on fire safety, building regulations, chimney fire investigation and fire training. He is passionate about both historic and new build construction methods.
We offer a full installation for all our products and are HETAS registered for solid fuel and RGII registered for gas installations.
It is well worth a visit to our extensive showroom in Bray for ideas and inspiration where you will see all the latest products many of which are live displays.
Our normal opening hours are from 09:00 to 16:30 Tuesday – Friday. We’re also open on Saturdays 11.00 to 15.00. We guarantee you a very warm welcome!
