Real Flame Feel – Without the Fuss

Electric fires have come a long way. Today’s models, especially from Glen and Faber, create stunningly realistic flame effects using clever technologies like Optimyst – a fine mist that looks just like real smoke and flame. And because there’s no actual combustion, you don’t need a chimney or flue – just plug in and enjoy. These fires are completely safe, maintenance-free, and easy to control with a remote. You can even enjoy the flame effect without any heat, making it perfect for year-round comfort.

Glen Dimplex has been a trusted name in electric heating for over 50 years. Their fires use patented flame tech like Optiflame and Optimyst, combining style and innovation to suit all homes – from modern builds to period cottages.

Faber, part of the same family of brands, brings European elegance and cutting-edge electric designs. Their e-MatriX range uses water vapour flames and integrated heating, offering both beauty and warmth. And best of all – no need for a chimney or gas supply.

Founded by George Tracey — a full-time firefighter with decades of frontline experience — we treat every installation with precision, care, and your safety as the top priority. Here’s what our customers have to say:

Highly recommended. John arrived on time and explained what he was going to do to sort out my blocked chimney, which was 4 stories high. He was fast, efficient, professional, and friendly. He tested everything, including the carbon monoxide alarm, before he left. Couldn’t ask for more. Very satisfied.

Sean Smyth

Many thanks for arranging recent work in our home installing a cassette stove in our fireplace.
I wish to place on record the excellence of the two men who carried out the work: James and Chris. Both were courteous, friendly, helpful, and very hardworking. They cleared up dust and dirt as the work progressed and left the room in pristine condition. They also sorted out an historic blockage in the chimney to fit the flue. Anyhow, they were excellent representatives of your business. I may be back to you for one of those outdoor fires in the coming months.

Eamonn Brennan

In a culture of ‘sure it’ll do’ and the many times we are disappointed with some tradespeople — plumbers, painters, electricians, etc. — it was an absolute delight to witness the sheer professionalism, care, cleanliness, and courtesy of the people at The Soot Doctor, especially John on this occasion. I will always be happy to recommend such great people. Evonne Warnock, Foxrock.

Michael Kelly

I had an excellent experience with this company from start to finish. They helped me find the perfect product, and the gas fireplace they installed was exactly what I was looking for to finish off my sitting room. Their customer service was outstanding, providing timely estimates and accurate delivery dates. Would absolutely recommend to all.

Simon Morgan

Highly recommend. No fuss, no mess. Professional & friendly. Local Bray business set up by a firefighter/paramedic who was fed up with house fires caused by chimneys. CLEAN YOUR CHIMNEY ONCE A YEAR! The state of mine was shocking.

O.R. Melling

We had a KT chimney re-line carried out by The Soot Doctor. From the initial survey to the completion of the work, I knew we were in good hands. Excellent work completed by knowledgeable professionals. I couldn’t help but recommend their work. Thank you.
