Typical wood combustion generates a range of particles which are normally emitted into the environment. By means of pioneering and innovative development work, RAIS has managed to develop a technology that burns practically all residual particulates.
Amazingly, when the Danish Technological Institute tested the fire, they found that particulate emissions were too low to be measured on their standard scale. The official figure of 0.6g/kg is merely the standard margin of error added to zero.
Combustion is automatically controlled, so the fire is lit and refuelled by the user, but the stove does the rest. Combustion starts in the upper chamber then once an optimum temperature is reached, the direction of combustion is automatically reversed and the spectacular down-firing into the lower chamber begins.

The door is easy to open by means of a gentle turn of the handle and locks automatically when the handle is released.
